A Christmas Card

Holiday greetings from Tip

Well  .  .  .  it’s that time of year when our mailbox fills with an abundance of holiday catalogues and the occasional holiday greeting.

There are only a smattering of Christmas cards in our mailbox. This is mostly due to the fact that we don’t do the card thing.

Not to throw shade at those stalwart souls spending hours hand scribing cheerful notes. It seems like a self perpetuating task which has been over-shadowed by technology.

Why, even those “our year” letter writers have been reducing text in favor of a photo spread.

First morning walk with snow

Regular posts on this blog will keep anyone interested current on all our adventures  .  .  .  though mostly fishing excursions  .  .  .  if there is any interest.

So we also choose to use this space to send out a holiday greetings and consider this our yearly Christmas card.

Beauty of snowfall in the forest … across the road from our house

Any walk is a good time

We hope you have enjoyed the past year as much as we have and are looking forward to the next one.

We wish you all good health, good food and great adventures.

  1. Holiday Greetings to you! Love your blog, please keep sharing your stories, adventures, etc. Maybe you could do one on preparing your favorite home cooked meal. 🤓

As usual, winter seems to be arriving way too early for us old folks. Anchorage is considered to have a semi-arid climate, but we have had nearly 50 inches of snow so far this season and practically none of it has melted. The average seasonal snowfall is less than 80 inches. Looking forward to to January, which is historically our driest month and daylight starts increasing.

Thanks again for your wonderful posts.

    1. OK … 80 inches of snow really puts winter into prospective, I’ll limit my complaints in the future. Here in central OR we have a mountain range to strip the moisture from those rivers of rain coming off the Pacific. You on the other hand are front and center to the weather pattern … sorry. You’ll see that we are including some recipes in the upcoming post … will try to work in more in the future. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your holiday. js and JQ
